Angela Batie Carlin, ‘07 M.Div

Angela Batie Carlin is originally from Tacoma, Washington and received a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Portland. She spent time in Pennsylvania living in an intentional service-oriented Catholic community affiliated with the priests of the Holy Cross and volunteering full-time at a non-profit leadership development organization. She then went on to Yale Divinity School for her Master of Divinity, which she completed in 2007. While at Yale she received an award for excellence in preaching and spent a semester on exchange at the University of Cambridge in England.

Upon graduating from YDS, Angela moved to Saint Louis to work as a campus minister at Saint Louis University, where she also taught in the Department of Theological Studies and received a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Aquinas Institute. Her writing has appeared in US Catholic magazine and in From the Pews in the Back: Young Women and Catholicism, published by Liturgical Press. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Pallottine Renewal Center where she develops and leads opportunities for spiritual reflection for lay Catholics.
